DeanEasy: What is it? How does it work?

What is DeanEasy?

The DeanEasy it's a double air chamber system which allows you to have two different pressures inside a single tyre.

The first chamber is made up of a tube resting on the rim inflated to high pressures (between 6 and 8 bar) and acts as a protection for the circle, from system anti-stall breaking And anti-pinch , while the second chamber formed by the space between the tubular and the tubeless allows us to adjust the pressure depending on the type of route and our needs.

Where did the idea for DeanEasy come from?

The DeanEasy it is an original idea developed from scratch in the province of Verona by MTB enthusiast Alberto Deanesi .

When Alberto had this idea there was nothing similar on the market and even today there is nothing as effective.

What are the advantages of DeanEasy Tube+?

Let's discover the advantages of the DeanEasy system:

  • the internal tubular inflated at high pressures protects the rim from large impacts and in the event of a puncture it is possible to finish the ride because the ground will never come into direct contact with the rim, which happens both with an inner tube and with the traditional Tubless system;
  • prevents bead breaking , in fact the tubular makes it impossible for the side of the tyre to leave the seat of the rim;
  • prevents pinch flats , the presence of the tubular reduces the space between the tire and the rim, therefore in the event of large impacts it prevents the tubeless from bending on itself, preventing the sidewall from being cut.

In addition to these three advantages it allows us to be able to adjust the pressure of our tires at pressures never seen before, in fact with this system it is possible to lower the pressure of your wheels to 0.8 bar , so as to be able to choose the pressure based on your needs that allows you to have the best possible performance in all conditions of use.

Disadvantages of DeanEasy?

  • weight increase : the weight increase is approximately 120g per wheel, a weight that can be recovered by using tubeless without lateral reinforcement because the protection of the sidewalls is provided by the internal tubular.
  • enlarge the valve hole , the only obstacle to installation. It seems like a bigger obstacle than it actually is, many doubts are raised about the possible loss of the warranty, you can ask any mechanic how many aluminum rims are actually replaced under warranty?
    They will tell you that there are very few of them, in fact the majority (especially those intended for enduro and DH use) are replaced because they are broken or dented and the warranty does not cover this type of damage. Furthermore, this risk with the DeanEasy system is greatly reduced thanks to the protection that the system provides.

In the meantime, FIR has worked hard to meet this need and has introduced numerous new features in the 2017 range. DeanEasy ready native circles which do not require any additional processing.

For those who want to learn more, we leave you some videos that will allow you to appreciate and understand the DeanEasy system even better.
