In the first stage of the Italian MTB Awards – SCAPIN and of the MTB Tour Tuscany 2018 the Venetian Annabella Stropparo takes home another victory: the third !

In Rosia (Siena), in the very famous Val di Merse Marathon in its 15th edition, Annabella managed to reach the finish line first, despite a nasty fall along the way, and to raise her arms to the sky again after her recent victories at the Bardolino Bike and to the Three Valleys by Gist .

A clear victory on Sunday for Annabella, team flag bearer Scapin – Tek Series and equipped with wheels FIR Fusion Lite 29″, but unfortunately she also recorded a bad fall at the beginning of the race. Her extraordinary physical condition, however, combined with her determination, allowed her to resist the pain and the strong contusion, leading her to the “third” solo triumph in the Siena area.

Unfortunately, something happened that shouldn't have happened, but for all of us bikers, an accident along the way is always lurking! I'm very sorry and in all confidence I have to thank Heaven that – despite the disastrous fall – everything turned out in the best way possible... well and thanks again to the Good Lord!

As soon as I got home – in Como – I went to the emergency room where they treated me and applied the “beauty” of twenty-eight stitches – on my right forearm and elbow… with a relative plaster cast to immobilize my right upper limb.

Also, still on the right side, some abrasions on the knee and elbow itself with a strong contusion to the liver; I feel as if I had been "crushed" by a bulldozer; I will not give up and surely - in a short time - I will recover completely!

For the moment I will dedicate myself with more "attention" to my daughter Vittoria and to my partner Piero who loves me dearly ... I am very sorry for what happened because I will not be at the starting line of two upcoming and important competitive events and that is - the first - next Sunday - April 15, 2018 - the "Garda Marathon" and above all - the second - the following Sunday, April 22, 2018 with the "Tiliment", in Spilimbergo and valid for the European Martahon: too bad, we really didn't need this setback!

Now I have a few days of “forced and active” rest ahead of me and then off again with my “Oraklo” Scapin and ready for the two important commitments of May 2018, namely the 6th (Sunday) with the Costa degli Etruschi (second IMA – SCAPIN race) and the 13th (also Sunday) with the Capoliveri Legend included in the UCI MTB MARATHON SERIES, MARATHON TOUR FCI and Coppa Toscana 2018.

We wish Annabella a speedy recovery, waiting for her back in the saddle to see her triumph countless more times!!!
